What is the digital design of a smile?
The digital design of a smile, also known as DSD (Digital Smile Design), is a system introduced by Dr. Christian Coachman, which is based on the recollection of photographs of the patient from different angles and positions. Afterwards, our specialists meet once week and discuss the most convinient way to solve each case.
After carrying out this personalised clinical study and the appropriate solution has been found, a virtual wax-up or simulation is performed of the photos of the patient, this wax-up is transfered to the laboratory and produced on a model or mock-up which is later fitted into the mouth of the patient where they can see, within their own mouth, the changes which we can hope for, all of this through a process where the teeth are untouched and no anaesthesia is used.
What advantages does this have for the patient?
On this mock-up or simulated model, we can perform the necessary adjustments until the team and the patient are totally satisfied. The tests or trials which are carried out on a simulator and not in the mouth of the patient can be rectified and adjusted as many times as necessary without any discomfort for them.
Another advantage when offering this technique is the elimination of the uncertainty which is provoked when starting a new treatment without knowing what the end result will be. By working this way and in a team, we achieve the removal of doubts that our patients may have regarding their final appearance and the integration of the treatment with the face.
If you would like to improve your appearance with a spectacular smile, you now have the possibility to see a simulation of how you would really look after the treatment. You can now see yourself in the before and after photos without any discomfort. Feel free to make a decision once you are sure of the results.
How much does it cost?
The cost for the design and mock up test is 410 €.
